Catastrophic Loss Litigation Staff Attorney

Willcox Savage, one of Virginia’s leading law firms, is seeking a skilled and experienced Catastrophic Loss Litigation Staff Attorney (two or more years of experience) to join our Norfolk, Virginia office. This attorney will be supporting active litigation in state and federal courts. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials.
  • Hands-on drafting: dispositive motions, discovery motions, briefs.
  • Manage court filings.
  • Support case preparation for state and federal proceedings.
  • Responsibility for discrete workstreams.
  • Take and defend depositions with partner support.
  • Argue motions commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

  • JD degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active Virginia State Bar license.
  • Two or more years of litigation experience preferred.
  • Experience preparing for federal and state court cases.
  • Experience drafting and managing pleadings, briefs, depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials.
  • Detail-oriented, good communicator with strong writing and organizational skills.
