Legal Assistant - Litigation Practice

Responsibilities

  • Assist with management of the trial process, including discovery, pleadings, hearings, trial exhibits, and filings with courts
  • Prepare legal documents and correspondence from draft
  • Manage case documents in the firm’s Document Management System
  • Open, organize, and maintain files
  • Manage attorneys’ calendars (hearings, depositions, etc.), schedule meetings, and make travel arrangements
  • Monitor communications daily and ensure that deadlines are met
  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations for hearings and trials
  • Assist with time entry and client billing

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills, with an eye for detail
  • Self-starter
  • Must be able to follow and implement a set work process and perform under strict guidelines, particularly those set by courts
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks and have ability to prioritize
  • Must be sensitive to deadlines 
  • Strong work ethic and desire to learn
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
