Defending Catastrophic Injury, Wrongful Death, and Complex Liability Claims

Kevin brings hard-edged trial experience to our Catastrophic Loss Section, pairing legal muscle with practical judgment to move complex cases forward. A former partner at a Virginia civil litigation and insurance defense firm, Kevin served as lead counsel in workplace accidents, wrongful death, and other high-exposure defense matters. His practice spans products liability, construction law, premises liability, and motor vehicle accidents, and he has handled personal injury, medical malpractice, real estate contract disputes, and Virginia Consumer Protection Act claims. Kevin is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia and has experience delivering practical, durable results.

Notable Work & Achievements

In federal court in the Eastern District of Virginia, Kevin successfully represented a products manufacturer facing a substantial claim tied to construction delays on a new hospital. He cut through a tangle of schedules, change orders, and expert narratives to isolate the real drivers of delay. Focused discovery, clear timelines, and pragmatic strategy protected the client’s position and moved the matter toward an efficient resolution.

When a worker was electrocuted on a jobsite and a wrongful death suit followed. Kevin stepped in for the contractor, mobilized rapid fact development, and strategized a complete defense to the claim. Through careful statutory analysis, Kevin achieved a complete dismissal for the contractor, and avoided subsequent subrogation claims in federal court.

After an explosion, wrongful death and personal injury claims targeted a landlord. Kevin moved quickly: preserving evidence, coordinating investigators, and aligning experts on origin and cause. With tight messaging and disciplined negotiations, he resolved both claims on terms that closed the risk and allowed the client to move forward.

When a closely held corporation was accused of business conspiracy, Kevin welcomed the fight. Through crisp motion practice, sharp witness work, and a trial plan that made complexity simple, he tried the case to a jury. The result: the claim was fully dismissed.

A national hospitality brand faced a high-exposure brain-injury claim from an alleged slip-and-fall. Kevin focused on the essentials: liability standards, notice, biomechanics, and medical causation. Strategic discovery and expert alignment narrowed the issues and neutralized inflated damages narratives. The case advanced on our client’s timetable, not the plaintiff’s, positioning the client for a strong defense resolution.
